Get out your tin foil hats and let's go down the rabbit hole. What do the Titanic, Area 51, JFK's Assassination, and the Moon Landing have in common?? Many would say they are all actually conspiracies to hide the truth.

During our class, we will examine each of these four events in detail. We will look at possible conspiracy theory(ies) and the reason for them. Next, we will discuss their viability. Then, everyone will decide what they think. Maybe even develop a conspiracy theory of your own!!

A quick tease of the main conspiracy theories: The Titanic wasn't actually the Titanic, it was its sister ship, and it was wrecked on purpose (insurance fraud). Area 51 isn't just a military base, but a government-protected area covering up high-level secrets and perhaps alien life. JFK's Assassination was planned by the CIA, or another country, and Lee Harvey Oswald was just a scapegoat. Finally, the Moon Landing, or maybe just the footage, was faked and done in a studio.

But wait! There's More!!! What would a fun History's Mysteries course be without creating cool stuff?!?!

For the Titanic we will make penny boats and see who's boat can hold the most pennies. For Area 51 we will make some kind of alien life form or UFO. For JFK's Assassination we will create WANTED posters for the real culprit (Hey, Lee Harvey Oswald is an option). And for the Moon Landing, we will come up with our best moon landing memes.

This class will be very interactive and we will have time at the beginning of each class to check out your cool projects!!! Also, if you have a better idea for a project, then go for it.

I have always been very curious and creative and I love to inspire it in kids (both my own and others) as well. I like to teach through projects, which give students a choice on the way they learn and show their understanding. I also love to teach through games and like to combine game elements in my classes.

I believe history, studied in context, to be extremely important. In fact, it's one of our best teachers. The other "subject" I believe to be of high importance is Logic. Unfortunately, logic has long been left off most curriculums. Knowing how to examine events and history through logical thinking and analysis gives us a deep, true understanding of our world.

I'm a big believer in every parent having all the need to school their children all the way through high school. So, if you are ever in doubt, let me encourage you.

My educational consulting company, It's A Potsick Education, exists to build up curious, creative learners. I do custom content/lesson design, private, online events, consulting, and more. Message me for anything you need.
