Mastery Evaluation
1-2 hours per week. Each week, students will complete a brief written reflection or mini-assignment (e.g., analyzing a historical document or outlining an essay) based on our session, evaluated on understanding, clarity, and application of historical reasoning.Assessment
At the end of the tutoring period (e.g., after 4-8 weeks, depending on enrollment), students will complete a short U.S. or World History project or essay, scored on a 1-5 scale for content mastery, critical thinking, and improvement, aligning with their initial goals.Letter Grade
Progress will be graded on a letter scale (A-F), where A = Excellent (mastery of historical skills and exam readiness), B = Good (strong understanding with minor improvements needed), C = Satisfactory (basic understanding requiring refinement), D = Needs Improvement (significant gaps in skills), and F = Unsatisfactory (minimal progress). Students will receive a cumulative progress report at the end of the course, indicating their improvement (e.g., achieving a letter grade increase, such as from C to A, in historical skills or exam performance), ensuring parents understand their learner’s growth.Grading
Individual Feedback: I’ll provide personalized written feedback within 48 hours on each assignment or session, highlighting strengths (e.g., strong analysis, clear writing) and areas for growth (e.g., deeper source use, thesis refinement), with specific tips for improvement. Verbal Feedback During Sessions: During each 1-on-1 session, I’ll offer real-time guidance and encouragement, adjusting lessons to meet the student’s needs and tracking progress toward mastery.Class Experience
