Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 5
Come learn British History of World War 2 including Evacuees, Dunkirk, V-E Day, and more from a British Teacher through per-recorded lessons/ self-paced schedule.

There will be five 30-minute lessons (2.5 hours). I would suggest doing 1 lesson a week with the optional writing assignments for homework to understand the material better. The writing assignments can be sent to me in the messages or the comments of the post for me to review.

You can watch the lesson and do the optional homework at your own pace during the week.

Students will learn that the past can be fun to learn and that history is still around us today. We will be studying how WWI and WWII affected Britain and other countries. My British History class will allow students to learn fun facts about Britain that changed the world. No background knowledge is required, just a willingness to have fun while learning about the past.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lessons include the following topics: Winston Churchill, evacuees, Dunkirk, Women in World War II, V-E Day, and more.

Homework is optional.

This class is lecture-based (no live meetings) with children interacting with questions asked and what they have found out for their homework.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
The biggest guidance I would suggest is when something needs to be looked up on the internet for homework that the parents are aware of what websites their children are going to. Also, there will be talks about wars that Britain was involved with and evacuees.
Supply List
Parents will simply need a computer, a notebook, pen, and a student who wants to learn how history in Britain really did effect the world and how one nation, though small, made a huge impact.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I am originally from Britain, and as a child, I went around many stately homes. My parents were both born in the 1930s, and my mum's stories of WWII allowed me to see history in such a different way. I have taken many classes in history and my love for history has grown over the years, that I would love to share this love to allow students to see that history can be fun to learn.
