Each week students will learn about a person, event, or concept from United States history, using age-appropriate texts. A variety of cultures and concepts are explored that will shine light on America's past. When possible, I encourage learners to make connections from the past with present issues. A typical session will include 1. book reading, as listed below; 2. discussion of key facts; and 3. an activity to solidify understanding and provide some fun. Activities might include interactive games (like Kahoot! or Nearpod), simple hands-on projects, or fun worksheets. Weekly topics (specific books may be updated, but the topics will be as listed).
