Description
Class Experience
Students will develop comprehension and retelling skills for sharing the Titanic story. We will practice basic information gathering by using the five Ws and 1 H to research and learn about the topic.
I have been a librarian for over a decade. In this time, I have worked with students of all ages (college to elementary) on their reading, organization, and grammar skills. I have also been teaching English online for the last three years. I have been with VIPKid, an online ESL teaching program, for 3 years, and I have been with Magic Ears (another ESL teaching program) for the last year. In this time, I have learned to elicit total physical response while engaging young learners, teaching curriculum based on learning English as a second language. I have worked in both one-on-one and four-on-one virtual settings. I am comfortable with all ages and larger groups of children.
There will be no homework assigned. This is a one-time informational class on the Titanic.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
