History of the Holocaust

In this 15 week course, students will examine the how and why of the Holocaust. Students will learn that the Holocaust was not inevitable, they will examine the difficult complex answers to complex questions, explore different perspectives and importantly, translate statistics into people. This class will use a wide array of sources- including primary sources, oral histories, diary entries and more. Students will be required to analyze and answer questions based on these sources. I have my Masters in History with a Specialty in Holocaust and Genocide studies. I have done extensive trainings through the United States Holocaust Museum and Echoes and Reflections for teachers of Holocaust content. I have done research and written papers on several Holocaust topics including Children in the Holocaust, Women in the Holocaust, Jewish Partisans, Women Perpetrators of the Holocaust, Nazi Philosophy and More.

Students will be required to do some outside reading to make the most of our time together in class1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
