Welcome to the History of Disney Theme Parks! In this class, we will evaluate Disney theme parks and their histories and inspirations. Each week, students will learn about different Disney theme parks and their inspirations and create concepts for their own theme park and lands! Students will learn the history of the Disney parks and the cultural and historical relevance of each Disney park, as well as the historical factors that influenced the development of each--all from a former Disney cast member!
I have my MA in Art History from the University of Colorado at Boulder where I focused on animation and its interactions with art history for my master's thesis. I have taught a version of this course twice at the collegiate level for undergraduate students and lecture regularly on Disney history! I also spent a year working at Walt Disney World!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
