I have taught a variety of social studies courses in both the traditional classroom and online environment for over 13 years. I love making history come to life through first hand accounts, images and stories. I am also a huge fan of amusement parks. My favorite rides are wooden roller coasters, bumper cars and the tilt-a-whirl. While my background is in middle and high school education, I have worked with younger (and older) learners as well. As a homeschooling mom of two (ages 5 and 8) I love Outschool and how it enables teachers to personalize learning for all! I love helping students dig deep into the past, learn the facts, and then develop their own opinions about critical events in history. Having fun while we learn is so important! I focus on keeping the classroom environment accepting of all students while delving into these important topics.
Students will have the option to design their own amusement park and rides for homework.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
