Learn the Music of Black History! In this one-time course, students will take a magical train ride down the history of African-American music. Students will learn the roots from which the music today sprouted and also will play games themed towards the lesson. Students will go through the timeline from the genres of Spirituals, The Blues, Jazz, Soul, R&B, Hip-Hop, and 90's Rap. They will hear those iconic sounds from artists like Louis Armstrong, Prince, The Jackson 5, and more. We will assess at the end of the class by listening to different genres and telling which it belongs to. Students are encouraged to raise their hands to answer questions or type them in the chatbox.
