Assessment
The teacher, certified to teach social studies, uses the classic Socratic method of teaching, a form of cooperative dialogue between teacher and student based on asking and answering questions to stimulate critical thinking and to draw out ideas and underlying presuppositions. The learner's progress will be assessed through informal assessment.

Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 5
This is an ongoing class. Learners will be able to join at anytime as lessons do not build upon each other. 
The history of the world will be taught using live drawings and illustrations and engaging story telling for learners aged 7-11 years of age. Using a virtual "white board" (Notability) stories from history will be "live" sketched, drawn and illustrated while being told. This is an engaging teaching method, visually dynamic, taking the student on a journey through history, exploring the the great lives, ideas, and accomplishments from the stone age to the digital age. 
Week of October 16th - Hunter gatherers. 
Week of October 23rd - The first artists, sea voyagers, farmers and horse riders. 
Week of October 30th - The first cities. 
Week of November 6th - Ancient Egypt. 
Week of November 13th - The first writing. 
Week of November 20th - The first empires. 
Week of November 27th -  The metal ages. 
Week of December 4th -  The first schools.
