The History Herald: Different Government & Leadership Forms- Historical & Now

Extra! Extra! Learn All About It! In this one day class, we will explore the government and leadership types of the world, both historical and current. From an absolute monarchy to a republic, Come Explore With Us!

Governments and leaders run and support the countries, cities, and people of the world.
But, what are the differences between them?
How do they work?
Who is in charge?

We will explore various types/forms of government and learn to identify them while engaging in group discussion and interactive review!

We will learn about:
- Oligarchy
- Democracy
    - Presidential, Direct, and Representative
- Dictatorship
- Absolute Monarchy
- Constitutional Monarchy
- Theocracy
- Republic
- Anarchy

And come key leadership positions like Head of State and Chief Executive. We will also work on examples of each throughout time. So let's journey back and learn all about governments!

Learning Goals

Students will improve their understanding of different government forms and their leaders while connecting them to historical and modern examples of each. Students will also work on their social collaboration skills through group activities.

I have been challenging and elevating students for over 10 years to delve deeply into the issues of our past and wrestle with the realities of our present and future. Each conversation will be open and honest but guided with the necessary care for students of this age. I believe it is our job as educators to not teach children what to think- but how to think and allow them to unearth the truths that are often hidden within the words of pages.
