Florida Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Hello! My name is Katie Corrao. I am a teacher in Central Florida. I live very close to the famous mouse, Mickey! I have been a teacher for 19 years. I taught for 11 years in a public school system. I am now teaching at a private school where my own children attend. I have my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, grade K-6. I have my Master's Degree in School Counseling, K-12. I also have my Reading Endorsement, Gifted Endorsement, and ESOL Endorsement. I love to learn, and I hope my enthusiasm for learning is contagious to my students.
I have experience teaching all elementary levels, from grades 1-5. I also have experience in teaching Gifted and Talented students, which is my current teaching position. During the school year, I privately tutor students at my school ranging in grades 1st to 7th. Every year, I host summer camps at my school. My most popular camps are The Art of Wizarding- Harry Potter Camp and varying camps that focus on STEM, including Minecraft STEM and Art STEM.
Teaching is my passion. I enjoy teaching Reading, Science, Social Studies, and STEM. I have taught workshops to teachers on how to incorporate STEM into multiple subject areas. I relish in the ability to incorporate varying skills and subject areas into my lessons. My teaching style is very energized, hands on, and problem solving based.
I firmly believe that every child is entitled to an enriching education. I enjoy motivating my students in ascertaining their strengths and abilities. I aim to provide a stimulating learning environment that fosters confidence and encourages children to reach their full potential.
Most importantly I am a mom to two amazing boys. My oldest loves to play baseball and golf. He enjoys reading the Percy Jackson series and he is very artistic. My youngest son loves anything his big brother does, including baseball, reading Magic Tree House books, and is a big fan of donuts. As a family, we love to go to the beach, camping, attending UCF football games, and traveling.
I look forward to getting to know you and your children as they learn and grow in their education.
