Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 7
Does your learner know everything there is to know about the sinking of the Titanic? Are they interested in the learning the Titanic, but don't know a lot about it? This is the class for them!

In this class, students will compete against each other answering questions about the sinking of the Titanic, and whoever answers the most questions correctly wins!

No prior knowledge of the Titanic is required. To make things fair students will receive a document that contains all the answers prior to class. They should study it before coming to class, and it is requested that they not have it nearby during class, but try to answer the questions on their own from memory. Students should come to class with 1 to 3 facts about the Titanic not included in the document for extra points.

Sections will be closed approximately 6 to 12 hours in advance regardless of enrollment to ensure all learners have enough time to look over the materials.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a former Home School student who has never stopped learning! I love history and telling stories verbally and through writing, and I want to share that passion with others. I believe the statement is true: “Those who don’t learn from History are doomed to repeat it.” We need to learn from the past to shape our own futures and the world in general. I believe the best way to learn about history is to learn about the people who lived through it and what they experienced and tell their stories. I love telling stories through writing and enjoy public speaking, so storytelling is a natural combination of the two.

I have 4 years of teaching experience in a variety of places from teaching/coaching drama and dance for homeschoolers in a group setting, to homeschooling two young children for a few months, to teaching English as Second Language (ESL) to college students, to teaching Arts and Crafts at a Summer Camp. I am currently a ESL teacher online with VIPKid. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Communication from Stevenson University.

I love to travel both in the US and internationally. I’ve spent time in almost every state on the East Coast and driven through the rest. I’ve visited seven different countries and lived in Asia for 17 months.
