What happened to the Colony of Roanoke? Let's explore the nation's oldest unsolved mystery..... Students will pretend they are members of the Virginia State Police Department assigned to the Cold Case of solving the mystery of the Lost Colony of Roanoke. Students will receive a case file with important documents such as background information on the colony, evidence, and possible theories to solve the mystery. In class we will discuss the history of the colony and then possible theories of what happened to the colony will be discussed as well as evidence reviewed. Students can record their feedback on the possible reasons for the colonists unexplained disappearance and hopefully solve the mystery once and for all!
