Students will learn about different events and people in history. Students will also be given the chance to teach history to others.
I have had the pleasure of living in other countries and traveling to many others. I had the opportunity to teach English and American culture in China and Cambodia. In all my travels it was the stories of history that captivated me. I love to pass that excitement of learning history onto others through story telling and discussion.
Once a month students are given the opportunity to teach the rest of the club some history. Each learner should prepare what they want to say before class. This is optional, learners do not have to share if they prefer not to.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
I will use many different sources for news such as the Smithsonian, KidCitizen, the Library of Congress, as well as various books from history.
