Class Experience

Join me as we uncover a different historical mystery each week. Espionage, aliens, and assassinations are just some of the many topics that we will take a deep dive into in this course. Each week, I will give the students all of the details of the mystery through a direct lecture. After the PowerPoint, I will open the floor to student discussion for about 20 mins. They will discuss their own theories on what could have happened. After a thorough discussion, I will inform the students of the most widely accepted theories, again through direct lecture before wrapping the class up.

Week of January 25:
Who was Jack the Ripper?
Week of February 1st:
Why Did the Salem Witch Trials Happen?
Week of February 8th:

Week of February 15th:

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi everyone, my name is Ms. Reagan Sekander! My area of focus is history, geography, reading, and general crafting. I am currently a student at Texas State University working towards my B.A in history, minor in geography, and social studies composite 7-12th grade teaching certification. I have also been an avid reader since I was a child. I am a big believer in differentiated instruction and the constructivist method of teaching. I think using a mixture of lecture, video/audio representations, and discussion keeps students interested, as well as offering them opportunity to think critically themselves. I have an adorable pup, Scout, who is named after the feisty Jean Louise “Scout” Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird.
