Where will we be without science? In this class we will learn about black scientists and their contributions that went down in history. There will be trivia games and activities to keep our brains pumping while we absorb interesting facts about these wonderful minds. This is a 3 class session course. The scientists listed in this lesson are: -Class one- Mae C. Jemison George Washington Carver Marie M. Daly Dr. Patricia Bath Garrett Morgan George Carruthers -Class two- Dorothy Johnson Vaughan Katherine Johnson Percy Lavon Julian Emmett Chappell Edward Bouchet Roger Arliner Young -Class three- Saint Elmo Brady James Andrew Harris Lloyd Quarterman Dr. Charles Drew Dr. Daniel Hale Williams Mary Jackson With each scientist, we will learn a a short time line of their life and discuss how their scientific findings and accomplishments have influence on our lives today. This class is not a sit and listen class. Each learner will be allotted time to give input and provide answers to trivia questions. My classes are designed to nurture respecting the speaker and the collective perspective of the group. Conversation is welcomed and moderated at all times to give balance in the learning environment:
Learning Goals
Each learner will be able to accurately recall the names and accomplishments of at least 4 of the scientists.

Parental Guidance
No inappropriate or sensitive information or content will be presented.
Supply List
Pencil and paper to note their favorite/ most memorable scientists from the lesson and why they chose that person. Each learner will be encouraged to share at close of class.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
