In this brief class we will go over the enigmatic revolutionary Pancho Villa and discuss if he was a hero, villain, freedom fighter, bandit, or a Mexican Legend.

Class experience

Students will learn
-Who was Pancho Villa
-When was the Mexican Revolution
-Significant dates and events in the life of Pancho Villa
-His incursion into the U.S. mainland
-His contribution to hollywood
-Folklore and opinions of the legend behind Pancho Villa
I have over 10 years of experience teaching history related to the Mexican Revolution and era related events. I have studied in depth the history of Mexico at the Universidad del Valle Mexico where I hold a degree in Psychology. The perspectives I offer are from a Mexican-American schooled in both the USA and Mexico. In Mexico I furthered my higher education and gained an important cultural insight while doing so.
This class contains historical dates and events about war and incursions. By its nature war is controversial and unpleasant. Discussions will be held to age appropriateness. There will be pictures of Pancho Villa with ammunition belt or bandolier. These are not pictures to glamorize war or weapons but to show an accurate and historical depiction of the person. Discussions will be held to invasion and being sought by law enforcement in Columbus, New Mexico. Birth and roles played in the Mexican revolution, incursion into Columbus, New Mexico, and role in Hollywood. Teacher will omit discussions of graphic violence.
