It's a FIESTA! In this class, we will be celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of people whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. We will be learning through a book reading of "Dinner on Domingos" by Alexandra Katona, a slideshow including pictures of traditional foods and clothing, a game and listening to fun music! This class is taught in English.
Demonstrates awareness and appreciation of their own culture and other cultures (E.g. Describes some of the dances, foods, and special events related to culture).
My family is from the Dominican Republic. I strive to teach young children diversity and inclusion through representation of all cultures in books, toys, games and other activities.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
There will be dancing so please make sure your learner has enough room to safely move their bodies.
