Hip Hop/Jazz, American Girl Themed Dance Class
This beginners hip hop dance class will introduce basic movements of hip hop. We will warm-up, stretch and learn a fun, upbeat routine! During the end of class we will make a craft for our doll! Don't forget to bring any kind of doll to dance with!!!

During this class we start off with a warm-up and stretch our bodies for about 15 minutes along with our doll. We will be using music from the soundtracks of the American Girl Movies. We will then learn choreography to an upbeat dance routine, representing Isabelle! (25 -30 minutes) During class we will have a couple breaks that include about 5 minutes to learn sign language that deals with our theme and we will also make a cereal box for our doll at the end of class for about 5-10 minutes! When we are crafting and exercising we are also interacting with our dolls! You can bring 1 or all your American Girl Dolls or you can bring any stuffy you would like! *Duration of warm-up, choreography, game may vary do to student participation. Length of routine may vary depending on ability of majority to pick up choreography. *All music is age appropriate and go with our theme. *Choreography learned will be of my own creation. *Great option for those that homeschool looking for arts or P.E. option or looking for extracurricular activity for after school or weekends!
Learning Goals
Your child will learn basic movements of hip hop and movement. This song is upbeat and fun. The goal of this class is to get the student excited about dance, move around and exercise, learn something new and learn a full routine by the end of the class!
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Make sure your child is taking class in a safe space in a clear area where they can extend their arms out side to side and front and back. Also, make sure your child has water nearby and wears comfortable clothing. (Dance at your own risk.)
Supply List
Bring your American Girl Doll or any doll to class! I have attached a link to American Girl Ideas website. Please scroll down to Cereal Boxes. Print the cereal box you prefer for your American Doll or any doll. Bring to class and we will assemble them. (Bring scissors/tape or glue) If you are not able to print you can bring any items from around your house to make something else or you can just use this time to play with your doll!
