* Identify and emulate
Marchaina, who often goes by her stage name JoiBeatz, is a Boston native and alumni of University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where she earned a BS in music business, entrepreneurship, and technology.
She wears many hats as an engineer, producer, creative director, and artist. In addition to her work with You Be You, Marchaina is an engineer and producer at After5 Studios in Philly. As an artist, she is currently working on her debut project, which explores various characters' story lines within music.
She is excited to help kids discover the power in their voice through musical expression.
Students' "written" weekly homework will be a combination of creativity-powered drawing and writing.
Their weekly practice challenge will involve writing a 16 bar verse using three words giving at the end of each class to guide the artist to their authentic voice and innermost feelings.

I will provide e-books and accompanying videos of activities to support learners' and their caregivers through the weekly activities. (original curriculum by You Be You - all youth-appropriate!)

These activities are FUN, playful and reinforce learning in class while helping them develop a true music practice in their lives.
