Required pre-requisite: Hindi for Tots! Level 2B-this is required in order to ensure learners will be comfortable in the class and are already familiar with our learned Hindi vowels, consonants, and related vocabulary as well as other topics and class flow. If you have not taken Level 2 or Level 1 classes, you must contact the instructor prior to enrollment! In this class, young learners will continue to be gently introduced to Hindi through verbal interaction, song, finger play, pictures, and props. Learners will continue to be encouraged to interact not only with the instructor but also their fellow classmates during class to practice Hindi as well as socialization skills. Over the course of 12 weeks students will further incorporate topics from Level 1 and 2 into conversation and varied song and play. We will also be learning rhymes/songs from a book together "Gol Mol Bol" by Pridhee which all learners are required to purchase as part of this class. Learning the rhymes/songs will entail practicing past vocabulary as well as learning new vocabulary and expressions. Week 1: Focused review of Vowels and Level 2 Consonants, continued practice of Level 1 & 2 topics as well as of greeting, weather, calendar songs, time of day, numbers 1-20, etc. Week 2: Continued review of Level 1 & 2 topics and materials, weather, calendar and day time related activities, introduction of simple past into condition and weather, start learning first rhyme from "Gol Mol Bol" ,introduction of 1 new consonant Week 3: Continued review of Level 1 & 2 topics, continued practice of simple past and first rhyme from "Gol Mol Bol",introduction of 1 new consonant Weeks 4-5: Weekly introduction of 1 new consonant, continued practice of simple past, of Level 1 & 2 topics, of first rhyme from Gol Mol Bol, introduce numbers 21-31, introduce second rhyme Weeks 6-11: Weekly introduction of 1 new consonant, continued practice of simple past, of Level 1 & 2 topics, of first two rhymes from Gol Mol Bol, introduce 1-2 new rhymes (depending on learner progress), introduction of imperative through play well as the progressive through conversation Week 12: Continued review and practice of all previously learned songs/activities. Topics covered may be subject to change depending on learner progress.
Learning Goals
Students will review the numbers 1-20, level 1 and 2 topics. They will learn 9 new consonants and related vocabulary, numbers 21-31, common Hindi children's rhymes, as well as increased familiarity and ease of use with the Hindi language and conversation.

Supply List
Consonant Worksheets will be provided, but must be printed out by parents prior to class. I advise parents to hole punch and to keep in a easy to use folder. Students will also need crayons in our learned colors (blue, green, red, yellow, orange, pink, purple, black, grey and brown-white is not required). If parents are looking for additional practice material, Hindi Varnmala by Sachin Sachdeva is suggested for this age group. It is REQUIRED to purchase "Gol Mol Bol" by Pridhee for this class. We will be using the book in class and to keep in accordance with the usage agreement all students must own a copy. Please purchase your copy ASAP!

Teacher expertise and credentials
I began studying Hindi in 2007 with a private tutor and continued to study Hindi at Indiana University as part of my India Studies degree. I have spent approximately 10 months in India at various times and places living with locals and honing my language skills. I tutored Hindi in 2019 and have been teaching Hindi at the TN Language Center since January 2020. In addition, I am a Kathak dance student and have been learning Kathak at Upasana Performing Arts Center, Nashville, TN over the past 11 years. I have also been a part of my dance school’s South Asian community since I began dancing Kathak and therefore have been able to gain additional cultural and historical comprehension as regards both Hindi/Urdu and South Asia.
I have worked in Montessori classrooms as well as more traditional classrooms working with young children as well as teens. I bring my TEFL training as well as my experience teaching English as a foreign language to all my language classes. Additionally, having been a foreign language student myself I know the challenges that many learners face in acquiring a new language and seek to make new concepts-grammar, vocab, phonics-as accessible and as comprehensible as possible through various means-media, powerpoint, activities, drills-by whatever means possible! I love learning new things everyday and hope that my classes would pass along not only knowledge but the attitude that knowledge and learning are valuable and exciting!
