Class Experience

Namaste! Welcome to Part 2 of Hindi Language. In this course, we will continue to learn the language, but use more sentences instead of words and make use of Math and Science skills while doing so.

It is not mandatory to take part 1, however, it is strongly recommended. Most of the topics taught in part 1 will be reviewed before the beginning of a class. Here is what the class will look like:
1. Greetings (Namaste, mera naam....)
2. Review each topic and take a quiz.
3. Learn a new topic using Science or Math for most classes. Other classes will use art and social studies as well.
4. Review what this class was about with/without a worksheet(s).
5. End the class with goodbyes
Topics will include but can change:
Week 1: Ordinal numbers
Week 2: 5 senses
Week 3: Modes of trasportation
Week 4: Weather
Week 5: Birds
Week 6: Skip counting by 10s
Week 7: Rooms and things you find in and around the house
Week 8: Verbs
Week 9: Food
Week 10: Things in your bedroom
Little knowledge of Hindi such as numbers 1-10 can help understand faster, but is not required.
This class will use pictures, slides and worksheets to support the learning. The class will begin using English 50% & Hindi 50%, then move on to becoming 70-80% in Hindi. We will get "brain breaks" by giving the kids time to do a physical activity or play a game half way through the class for a minute or two when needed.
This class will be fun and engaging. Students will be expected to do homework and send the homework in to see progress.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their pronunciation and language skills in Hindi by making sentences of their own.

Hello everybody, my name is Ms. Kosha, a proud teacher, wife and a mother to my 7 year old daughter and a 6 year old son. I was born and brought up in India, with English and Hindi being my strongest languages growing up. Hindi was taught in my school, college (university), and used as the main language to speak in, throughout the time living in India. Despite coming to the United States 15 years ago, I have never let go off my culture, and passionately teach kids of various age groups on a daily basis. As a teacher, I am fun loving, welcoming, as well as positive in my teachings. I believe, encouraging a child when they do something right is the best way to teach. As a mom of young kids, I know that patience is virtue and show that in my teachings. I assure you, my classes will be fun as well as strongly focused on the subject.
