Class Experience

This class would best suit children who understand basic Hindi words and are ready to form sentences and start a conversation in Hindi.

Learning another language is not only learning different words for the same things, but learning another way to think about things. Knowledge of languages is the doorway to wisdom. With languages you are at home anywhere.

In this 8-week camp children will be immersed in the Hindi language with a variety of different activities. Each class will cover a different topic entirely in Hindi and provide a fun and enthusiastic environment for children to feel comfortable expressing themselves.

Through various activities such as SHOW & TELL, IF I WERE, Roleplays…. etc each child will have an opportunity to speak and share their ideas with the class.

The key to children retaining the Hindi vocabulary and dialogue learned is to keep practicing.

Week 1 - Greetings, Introductions (Parichay)
We will learn to greet each other, introduce ourselves, start a conversation and share opinions.

Week 2 – Seasons
We will learn about different seasons and learn to tell about the different experiences we have during each season

Week 3 – Directions
We learn to navigate our ways.

Week 4 – Tring Tring
We learn to have a telephonic conversation in Hindi.

Week 5 - Community Helpers
We learn to identify community helpers and the work they do.

Week 6 – Chalo khareedaaree karen (Let's go Shopping)
We learn to ask different questions to a shop keeper while we take turns to be the customer.

Week 7 – Dosti (Friendship)
We talk about the bond of friendship and what it takes to be a good friend.

Week 8 – What’s my Hobby?
We talk about different activities that we like to do, what interests us in doing the activity etc.

This class gives a great opportunity to interact and speak about a variety of things around us and that we do and use in our daily lives. The children will not only enjoy and learn to speak in Hindi but will also learn to express themselves and pick up new vocabulary.

Please Note: This class requires a minimum of THREE students in order to proceed. When I am not teaching, either I am scribbling my thoughts on my blog page, curled up in a corner with an amazing book and a cup of coffee, or you would find me exploring places and doing some fun outdoor activity.

I am looking forward to some amazing sessions together. :)
