We will explore the life and work of abstract originator, Hilma af Klint. Participants will be able to identify distinct strategies in Klint’s work, and implement these same approaches in their own in class project. Students will practice basic, intermediate, and advanced mirroring techniques. This approach to drawing is a subsequent teacher of fractions and proportion, as learners create designs that are intricate and accurate. The presentation will be shared with all of our artists during and after the class, so that students can share their experiences with others, refer back to class material, or take a deeper dive into video and still segments on their own time.

At the conclusion of class, learners will have a thoughtful artwork produced by mirroring. Though geometric and mathematical, learner will achieve this through free hand drawing. Participants will be able to articulate their strategy and intention as we share and speak on our approaches before and after the art making.
