Description
Class Experience
From the mysterious to the monstrous to the mighty, humans from across the globe and throughout time have created stories to give meaning and structure to their experiences on earth. As diverse and distant as these stories can be, there are many similarities. This course will explore ancient Greek stories about heroes, gods and the universe. SWBAT discuss the greek mythological stories within a group setting. SWBAT analyze a story for its meaning or lesson it teaches.
I am a successful Outschool teacher with proven methods for success. I am a certified teacher with 15+ years of teaching in the public, private, homeschool, university model, online, or private tutoring sector. I have a BA in Business Communications, a writing minor, and a teacher's certification and have been Charlotte Mason trained at Ambleside University. I have a proven dynamic teaching style and animated approach to teaching and learning. In addition, I'm passionate about meeting socio-emotional needs, in addition to academic, and have since become involved in Gals On The Go Project which provides prevention and resiliency workshops to kids through engaging activities, games, role-playing, crafts, and socratic group discussions.
