Class Experience

This is a hiking and nature safety class. The student will learn what supplies they should take, hiking etiquette, styles, wild animal safety, what weather to avoid, time management, plant safety, and how to leave no trace. This is a lecture style class with open discussion about hiking and nature. There will be a presentation as a visual aid. There will be tons of conversation around each subject and each student will have an opportunity to share.

Learning Goals

Students will learn how to respect nature while enjoying it. Going hiking is a healthy activity for families to do together. Students will go out and hike with confidence and knowledge.
