Students will learn at least five highly effective and well-researched ways to better manage their time. Strategies include the Pomodoro Technique, the 5-minute plan, a 3-part scheduling system, "tricks" to fight procrastination and to be focused on the task at hand, and the Urgency Matrix. Dr. Schmidt will explain and model these strategies. Students will practice them, and we will all discuss time-wasting and time-saving habits. Students will also be given a PDF of ways to manage their time to keep for future use. These are techniques that are taught to college freshmen-give your middle school or high school child a BOOST to be more confident and successful!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Doctoral Degree in English Language and Literature from Cardinal Stritch University
Dr. Schmidt has a bachelor's degree in Elementary and Middle School Education, a master's degree in reading, a PhD in Language and Literacy, and an Alternative Education certificate. She has taught developmental education to college freshmen for 12 years. She teaches her students these time management strategies, and her students LOVE them!
