Students will become more aware of how they present themselves in a written context. Students will learn to be aware of non-academic language in business writing. 

I am an experienced middle and high school English teacher who has previously worked with students in writing resumes, cover letters, and practing interview skills. Having re-written my own resume and cover letters throughout the years as I've moved up in the field of education to administration, I have a unique lens on how to develop hiring materials that will catch the recruiters' eyes. I also provide services as a career mentor to graduate students at Capella University, where I recently received my EdD.

Homework Offered
Students will develop their resume and cover letter after class (they will have a chance during class to get started on key bullet points), and have a chance to attend a follow-up class with the teacher on resume/cover letter review and feedback.
