Description
Class Experience
I am a certified Visual Arts Teacher for grades K-12. I earned my Bachelors Degree in Art Education. I also have 3 years of experience teaching visuals arts in the classroom, and 4 years of online teaching experience.
Students should expect to spend 3-4 hours of time on this course each week. This includes classwork and homework.
General Supplies: Scissors, ruler, pencil, pencil sharpener, eraser, masking tape, paper (sketchbook, or other loose paper for practicing) Unit 1: Color Theory & Painting Supplies- Paint brushes, watercolor or acrylic paint, one sheet of 14" x 17" heavy paper for the final project Unit 2: Drawing Portfolio Supplies- Drawing pencils, 6-8 sheet of 14" x 17" heavy paper for the final drawings Unit 3: Weaving Supplies- Yarn (various thicknesses and colors), Yarn Needle (plastic or metal, bent tip preferred) Unit 4: Sculpture Supplies- Hot glue gun, hot glue, Exacto blade, and cardboard Unit 5: Final Project Students will choose one of the techniques previously taught in class to plan and complete a creative final project. No other supplies are necessary for this beyond what is listed above.
I will provide feedback on final projects using rubrics. Rubrics are provided when a project is assigned so that students understand what is expected before they begin working. I can work closely with parents wanting grades for final projects, classwork, or quizzes on an individual basis.
No live meetings, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
We will use Nearpod and Flipgrid to work through our class lessons.
