This second year high school Spanish course will build on the irregular preterite and imperfect tenses along with direct and indirect object pronouns while growing the student's ability to speak, read and write.

Homework
1 hour per week. Students will receive homework at the end of each Google Slides presentation to reinforce learning in class as well as individual projects that will be shared in class using the Spanish language. Homework will take 15-30 minutes per class outside of class time.

Class Experience

This is a second year high school Spanish course . Along with new material, previous vocabulary and grammar concepts will be revisited as new material is introduced. Once new vocabulary is introduced via class lecture, google slides and at times, video clips, we will practice the content using fun, interactive games and conversation. We will participate in vocabulary games including but not limited to; Kahoot, Quizlet and Pear Deck Vocabulary builder. These varied activities will allow the learner both guided practice as well as independent thinking before the end of class. Students will be provided with independent learning activities at the end of each class.  I am an interactive teacher with the goal of making learning both fun and educational.  My classes include interactive discussion, games, songs and role play. Each class will begin with a warm up/greeting. We will then discuss the previous lesson/homework if applicable. New material will be shared via Google slides and each slides presentation will be shared with participants at the end of each class.
Specifically, Students will learn to read, write and speak using the irregular preterite/imperfect tenses, as well as reviewing stem change verbs. Students will expand on vocabulary related to getting around a city, community and neighborhood.
Students will expand the ability to speak, read write and listen in Spanish while exploring the following concepts;
 Week 1- Places in the community
Week 2-Camping 
Week 3- Camping and Outdoor activities transportation, present progressive
Week 4- Ordinal numbers
Week 5-Pharmacy visit
Week 6-Irregular progressive
Week 7- Progressive tense with the preterite tense
Week 8-Giving  and getting directions
Learning Goals
Students will continue to use all verb tenses as well as speaking about places in the community, how to give directions and the progressive tense.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
At times, I will be using short 1-3 minute Youtube videos to reinforce grammar as well as introduce or review vocabulary. These videos will be incorporated into the class presentation via Google slides. I also use learning games like Kahoot, Quizlet ad Pear Deck which will require students to join from their devices during class time.
