This is the first quarter of a year long class that will introduce the learner to Spanish basics as well as mastery of beginning conversational skills.

Class experience

Recite the Spanish ABCs and spell name in the target language
Describe orally and in writing objects using the singular and plural in addition to colors and numbers of objects.
Recognize and formulate responses tor basic questions connected to each vocabulary unit.
Compare and contrast cultural characteristics of Spanish-speaking countries to US culture related to aspects including:  family, school and money.
Share basic information about oneself in Spanish using the vocabulary and verb structure we studied during the quarter.
I have been having fun teaching Spanish in the public school setting for over two decades. I have a Master's degree in Education, a Bachelors degree in Spanish and I am certified to teach Spanish K-12. I have taught students ages 4-18 from beginning Elementary Spanish to Level IV high school. I also have extensive experience teaching ESL to learners of English and hold a TEFL certificate. 
Homework Offered
Students will receive written work to reinforce learning in class as well as individual projects that will be shared in class using the Spanish language. Homework will take 15-30 minutes per class outside of class time.
0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Students will have to opportunity to submit homework to the instructor via google classroom for grading. Individual projects will be shared and graded via a scoring guide provided when each project is assigned. At quarter's end, students will participate in a question and answer session with the instructor using the target language.
Grades Offered
Paper, writing utensil and the ability to join a special "Google classroom" created for students enrolled in this course. We will utilize "Kahoot" as a group to reinforce new material. I will also, at times, play a 2-3 minute video/song from Youtube to introduce the class to an educational song.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
