Beginner Level
This is a beginning 8 week Spanish course with no prior knowledge needed. Students will start with the basics then cycle up to develop an ability to speak in Spanish using short descriptive sentences. My style of teaching is interactive with the goal of making learning both fun and educational. My classes include active discussion, games, songs and role play. Each class will begin with a warm up/greeting. We will then discuss the previous lesson/homework if applicable. Once new information is introduced via class lecture, google slides and at times video clips, we will practice the content using fun, interactive games and conversation. This will allow the learner both guided practice as well as independent thinking before the end of class. Students will be encouraged to complete assignments before the start of each new class. The following concepts will be presented: Identify, pronounce and utilize words and phrases from the following vocabulary topics: *Greetings and how to use them in conversational Spanish week 1-3 *Numbers 0-30 and telling time week 2 *Colors, singular and plural week 2 and 4 *Days/months/dates week 2 *Telling time week 3 *Classroom objects and courses in Spanish week 3 *week 4 and ongoing *Family members week 5 *Adjectives week 5 *Clothing vocabulary week 6 *Parts of the body vocabulary week 7 *Basic questions and answers for personal disclosure using the target language week 8
