Description

Class Experience

I love languages, but Spanish especially. I visited Costa Rica for a mission trip, and while down there, I met my now-husband. He didn't speak English, and I didn't speak Spanish. What was there to do but learn the language? I ended up living in Costa Rica for three years, and after mastering Spanish, I moved on to learn Italian. I am now working on French and Mandarin. Learning so many languages has helped me formulate productive ways of teaching Spanish. The most important thing is to have fun. Just because it's a high school course doesn't mean that we can't have fun.

I currently teach high school Spanish to homeschoolers in my area (we do a once a week 2 hour class), and I run Solorzano Spanish Academy which serves Wake County, North Carolina.
Students will have two to three hours of homework to complete each week plus any extra study time they may wish to invest. Homework will be turned in to me via email.
MATERIALS REQUIRED:
3-ring binder (1 in. or larger) to keep graded papers, printed notes, and loose-leaf notebook paper for in-class exercises.

Avancemos Student Workbook, Revised Edition. Buying options are below. You do not want the edition for “hispanohablantes.” This edition is for students who have already had extensive Spanish practice.
