Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
Learners will improve their understanding of Spanish and how to more effectively communicate like a native speaker.
I have been a public school teacher for over 18 years in the state of New York teaching middle school and high school Spanish classes. I prepare my students to perform well on state examinations and teach IB Spanish classes in the International Baccalaureate program. I also teach English as a Second Language to both children and adults. I am New York state certified to teach Spanish, Italian and English as a Second Language with a TESOL certification. Languages are my life and my passion. I live in a bilingual household and love bringing the joy of communicating in multiple languages to my students.
Homework can be assigned upon request.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
My lessons often include a combination of interactive activities for students to complete in the form of Nearpod and Pear Deck lessons. I utilize EdPuzzle. Kahoot and FlipGrid whenever possible to further students' comprehension and communication skills. To participate in these interactive activities, students click on session links I post in the Zoom chat during our live meetings. No personal information will ever be required of students in order to participate in these activities.
