Hola! Welcome to my High School Spanish 2 (second semester) Spanish course. This course will be great for high school students that have already taken high school Spanish 1 and the first half of High School Spanish 2 or the equivalent. The course will be structured around a teacher-led slide lecture that will be presented in video format. There will be a total of 12 lessons/modules and each lesson will have 2 instructional videos, one for vocabulary and pronunciation and one for grammar. There will also be a secondary presentation linked to the main slideshow that will focus on a different Spanish speaking country, however this portion will not have an attached video lecture. My goal is to give a good foundation, use authentic resources and teach the Spanish language while allowing students to advance at their own pace. I will be available throughout the duration of the course for any questions as well as feedback on assignments. Presentations will include listening activities, grammar activities, games, music videos and practice work. I will encourage students to create flashcards that align with each presentation, I will encourage students to repeat after me in the recorded video to practice pronunciation and I will gladly give feedback and correct answers on all grammar activities. I will incorporate Google Slides, YouTube, Word Wall and more as needed (all of these are free accounts as well). **Because of the inclusion of sites such as YouTube and Word Wall, students must be over 13 to be a part of this class (Per Outschool Policy).** Class Experience This course is organized to teach the Spanish language through my instructional videos and linked activities that students can complete at their own pace. All material for all 12 lessons/modules (each module is roughly estimated to take a week to complete) will be presented to the students at the time of enrollment and students can reach out to me as needed with any questions or request of feedback upon completion of material. **Please note: There are no specific homework assignments or due dates, practice work is encouraged as well as pronunciation practice. All answers to any practice activities will be reviewed in the video lesson that follows the activity** I will make the course engaging and relaxed, while still encouraging student participation. My goal is to create an environment where the students feel comfortable, because the key component to acquisition of a foreign language is to be comfortable enough to have an open mind and not worry about perfecting the language. I want students to know that it is fine to make mistakes, I will NEVER embarrass a student and I am always willing to help with any questions the students may have. Mistakes actually are beneficial in the language learning process, and I made plenty of them learning a second language.
