Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
In this course, students will conduct laboratory and field investigations when possible, use scientific methods during investigations, and make informed decisions using critical thinking and scientific problem solving. Students study a variety of topics that include: Motion in one and two dimensions, free fall, and vectors. Students will be challenged to apply their knowledge of the laws of physics to solve physics related critical thinking problems. At the end of this course, they will be ready to progress to the 2nd trimester of this 3 trimester sequence to complete a full year of high school Physics.
Homework will be assigned at the end of each class. It should take approximately 1-2 hours to complete homework after each class as we will be covering at least two lessons per class.
I will be providing content in class in addition to homework problems, quiz and test materials. ALL MATERIALS NEED FOR THIS COURSE WILL BE PROVIDED. Students will need to come to class with a pencil, paper and a TI-84 calculator.
If you would like me to provide grades for your student, they will need to submit their homework, quizzes and tests to me in a timely manner throughout the course. Homework is due no later than one week after it is assigned. Please let me know at the beginning of the course if you would like me to provide grades.
2 hours 45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
