Honors Geometry is a class designed to support students interested in learning more about Geometry topics taught at the high school level. As a professional Geometry teacher, I will guide the class through the foundations of Geometry instruction with the purpose of long-term mastery. Students will be asked to complete problems during the lesson to show understanding. I will be teaching a using Smart Notebook, a TI-84 calculator, Desmos.com, DeltaMath.com, and other excellent web resources to maximize student achievement and engagement. Lessons will be a mixture of slides, exploration, games, and discussion questions. Having been exposed to Pre-Algebra will benefit any student, but it is not a pre-requisite. Segment and Angle Relationships
Discuss Segment/Angle Addition and Subtraction properties, Parallel vs. Perpendicular Lines, and transversals. 55 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
Polygons and Interior/Exterior Angle Sums
Polygon vocabulary up to a dodecagon, Interior Angle Sums, and finding the Exterior Angle of any n-gon. 55 mins online live lesson
Lesson 4:
Triangle Properties
Discuss common words to describe triangles based on their side and angle measures. Scalene, Isosceles, and Equilateral triangles, focusing on the Triangle Inequality Theorem. 55 mins online live lesson

I have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Master's degree in Teaching with a concentration in grades 7-12. I've taught high school mathematics for 6 years including Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2. During Covid, I had the opportunity to teach virtually and loved it. I've worked with students who are autistic, have ADHD, ODD, and anxiety to name a few.
I love the daily grind and working to improve my teaching processes and techniques. Teaching provides me the platform I need to constantly be challenged.
