Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in French.
I have been learning French for 9 years now, from French 1 - French 5 as well as 4 years of immersion French classes. I am conversationally fluent and at a B2 level. I have tutored French immersion from May 2020 through August 2020 when the French immersion school near us closed for quarantine, and I've been teaching French through Outschool for 2 years.

I took the French CLEP test a few years ago and got maybe 5 points away from a perfect score while testing out of and getting credit for all the French classes at my local community college.

I also continue to take French lessons with native speakers, and I am working towards my Bachelors in French, which includes classes in advanced French immersion, French literature, and French education.

I also have my certification in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language), the principles from which I apply to my French classes.
Students will read 1 chapter (4-5 pages) a week before class
Students will also have vocabulary words and some writing assignments
Students will have a final project of their own choosing to complete for the last week
Students will need their own copy of "Chien Pourri à l'École" You can find it on Amazon for around $15
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Students will receive a written evaluation at the end of the class
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Kahoot is used in this class. Students will need to have access to the website or download the app BEFORE class. In the case of siblings, each student will need their own device to play the game. Some students may need help in setting up Kahoot.

Breakout rooms are also used in this class. Breakout rooms will be closely monitored by me switching between rooms to make sure students are focused and to help when needed.
"Chien Pourri à l'École" by Colas Gutman (to be read outside of class time)
