US Grade 9 - 12
Beginner Level
Class Experience In this 16-week course, students will learn the science behind forensics science and the techniques used in solving crime scenes. Being that this topic is of a sensitive nature, please consult with your child prior to enrolling. Enroll if they are ready to dive into this type of science. It is a high school-level course that will be considered a half-semester credit. Students will be given reading assignments, videos, worksheets, and a final presentation to present to their peers. Upon completion, students will receive a printable certificate for their files. IMPORTANT: All students must have a video camera ON, except while watching a video. Payment: Even though there may be a day we do not meet, Outschool will collect for the course. Once the full course is paid off, they will no longer charge you. So please have funds available or they will withdraw your student for insufficient funds. I take off for my anniversary, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's and my birthday. I inform parents of this because they think since we didn't meet, that week will not be charged. This is not the case. Thanks for your understanding. Each day students will learn a particular science of forensics using various online videos, worksheets, and coloring pages. I will do oral reviews if time allows in each of the classes.
Learning Goals
My goal is to equip students to know what it takes to be a forensic scientist.
Make them aware of career choices in this field.

Parental Guidance
Few points to consider:
-Being that forensics is of a sensitive nature, all that death entails may be mentioned from time to time.
-Students will be using vinegar which is a mild acid. Students may need to be careful to not get this in their eyes.
-Also, we will be using super glue and this must be handled carefully so as not to cause any skin irritations.
Pre-Requisites
Students must be able to read at an 8th grade level and work independently.
