***THIS CLASS HAS NO LIVE MEETINGS. ALL MATERIAL WILL BE PRESENTED ASYNCHRONOUSLY.**

Mastering fundamental grammar skills doesn't have to be intimidating. After years of studying and teaching English Language Arts, I have developed a specialized curriculum to help older students acquire the foundational skills they need to become good writers. In this course, we will work to make grammar fun by incorporating custom-made online games, interactive note-taking, and independent practice into our lessons.

I have written a workbook for this course that is specifically tailored for online high school learners. The lessons are somewhat "easy" in the beginning: we will review and expound upon topics such as nouns, verbs, and basic sentence structure. As the curriculum progresses, the courses will become more complex and advanced, but don't worry! We're in this together! The best way to learn grammar is to practice, practice, practice.

Materials will be presented in the form of videos, digital notes, and interactive practice exercises. Students will complete practice exercises using the Boom Cards website, which will allow them to receive immediate feedback and multiple opportunities for practicing towards mastery. Students can reach out to me personally at any time by messaging me here on Outschool, and I will be sure to respond within 48 hours. I will also check in with you from time-to-time to ensure you are feeling confident with the curriculum and exercises.

This class is a semester-long course. Students will receive 14 lessons. Every class is different, but most classes will generally contain:
-A class instructional video
-Interactive digital notes and practice exercises
-A comprehension quiz- Students will receive immediate feedback on their quizzes
Learning Goals
Students will develop an advanced understanding of the fundamentals of English grammar. Students will learn parts of speech, sentence formation, punctuation, and common word usage.
