Description

Class Experience

Students will learn the unit content for cells, genetics, evolution, ecology, and classification.
Students should be able to understand and apply the vocabulary, solve problems, be able to explain the process/concepts by the end of the course

Each week the class post will have a video lesson, activities, discussion questions and optional extensions.

Each week students will complete the video lesson, interactive activities, then they will complete class discussion questions on the classroom page, as well as pair and share opportunities to allow for more peer to peer engagement. Students can pair and share by drawing a picture or diagram for a concept, making a graphic organizer, summary page, a video, or another creative form to share concepts in various ways. Students will then be able to discuss with their peers what they like and learned from the pair and shares. Finally, students will receive feedback and support on homework/discussion/pair and shares, and vocabulary practice.

Everything I assign is optional,, I put the most suggested assignments chronologically. They have Interactive and traditional worksheets/summaries to choose from. I highly recommend that the learner and parent choose what's best for the learners learning style and school needs.

Homework is optional and there will be various forms they can complete. Homework will have students practice vocabulary on Quizlet, Quizizz, or pdf worksheets. They will be able to practice interactive games, as well as complete worksheets or diagrams. All homework options will be shared after each class video directly on Outschool.
Resources students may need are Quizlet, Quizizz, pdfs are optional to print, Youtube for the class recording only. They may want to bring a piece of paper and a pen/pencil to class. Students shouldn't need accounts for Quizlet or Quizizz, but sometimes Quizlet is a little strange with viewing options and prefers an account.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Assessments and grades are available for weekly grades, optional homework grades, midterm and a final assessment will be provided as requested.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
