Class Experience

Using quotation marks in writing can be difficult. That's because rules for quotation marks change depending on the type of dialogue used. It can be confusing knowing when to place a punctuation mark within quotation marks or outside them. 

During out time in class, students will review the general rules on using quotation marks with other punctuation. I will provide examples and model the thought process used to determine when to use quotation marks and what to do with other punctuation...

Students will learn when to use quotations marks for various types of dialogue.
Student will learn how to use other punctuation such as periods, questions marks, and commas along with quotation marks.

No homework for this course, but additional resources will be provided in case students and parents wish to continue their studies of this topic.

Suggested but not required: paper and pencils

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Informal assessment based on students participation in class.
