US Grade 1 - 4
Welcome to High-Five Paragraph Writing (Flex)

This is a flex class so there are not any live meetings. Instead, students can work any time throughout the week!

This 4-week flex class makes spelling paragraph writing easy, fun and inspiring!

Students will learn and use new writing techniques (the high-five writing technique) to write a new type of paragraph each week!

In this flex class, students will be able to…

Learn how to write paragraphs each week with an opening, body, and closing while practicing expository, persuasive, descriptive, and narrative paragraph styles.

Students get to use Padlet (our virtual bulletin board) to show off our amazing paragraphs, and paragraph pictures with the class!

Each week, students will discover a new type of paragraph writing to practice together! Students will follow the weekly video on how to write an organized paragraph. After writing their paragraphs, students can share their work on our class Padlet page! Students are encouraged to draw a picture that goes along with their work to share with the class.

Teacher feedback and encouragement will be given weekly! Although grades are not given, I will give positive feedback, as well as possible gentle and helpful suggestions to student submissions.

I am a certified English and reading teacher who has taught reading and spelling for over 15 years! I have noticed that many students struggle to write paragraphs when they are not aware of how to structure a proper paragraph. When students are given explicit paragraph instruction in a fun and creative way, students are able to produce amazing results and master paragraph writing.
