We'll read books like "Cool Camouflage", and "A Color of His Own", try and spot these masters of disguise in the pictures we look at, learn why and how animals hide using techniques like mimesis and color and hide chameleons of our own!

Class experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten
Students will listen to stories and look at pictures and ask and answer questions throughout class, practice taking turns talking, listening and sharing observations about animals who like to blend-in. We will also work on our concentration, fine motor and listening skills while we work on our camouflage activity.

Learners will find out fun facts about some amazing camouflage animals, strengthen fundamental PreK skills like literacy, listening and sharing, predicting, problem solving, observation and speaking in turn while we talk about these masters of disguise and practice additional fine motor work engaging with the in-class project.

**In order to promote class discussions and participation I do not mute learners' microphones. This also helps learners practice their social skills such as active listening and taking turns. In order for this to work, students need to be in a quiet setting away from background noises (loud conversations, telephone calls, t.v, etc.). **

Please print and cut out the individual chameleon coloring pictures and the patterned background pages so we can color in and then try to hide our chameleons with either the included background pages or with things in your house ( a brown/black wood floor, a striped rug, a blue wall, a house plant, etc.) Learners should bring coloring tools to class. * Learners can observe the color and hide a chameleon activities during class and try them after class too! **In order to promote class discussions and participation I do not mute learners' microphones. Because of the age of the class I recommend a grown up be within "ear-shot" to help with any technical hiccups (mic and video) that might come up.
