In this course, we will go in-depth into the history behind the novel Hidden Figures: Young Reader's Edition. Students will read around two chapters in preparation for each class. We will then discuss the reading along with the interesting history behind the book. Videos and outside sources will be used to fully demonstrate the real-life history behind the book. Students will participate in discussion about the book and lessons surrounding the background. While learning about the amazing science, engineering and math in the book, students will also practice important Language Arts skills such as central idea, evidence, point of view and author's purpose.
