Class Experience
This course will teach the different ways to solve word problems. It will cover the different vocabulary terms, strategies, and the solution to the problem. The students will need prior knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. How will students learn? There will be several ways to interact with me in an online class: through synchronous interaction and asynchronous interactions. Number and Operations By the end of the session(s), and given numeric (or word) problems, the student will be able to add (subtract, multiply, divide) with ___ % accuracy. Algebraic word problems By the end of the session(s) and given sets of equations and/or inequalities, my child will be able to solve word problems with with ___% accuracy. By the end of the session(s), the student will be able to solve multi-step word problems using real-world math word problems.
Homework is optional for students. I will list resources for students.
2 files available upon enrollmentI will supply several appropriate websites and handouts. Students will need to have a notebook, pencil, and eraser.
I will have an assessment once a week for students.
30 minutes per class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
