In this class we will look at several passengers who demonstrated heroic acts as the Titanic was sinking. We will cover different those passengers who helped save the lives of their fellow passengers at the expense of their own. This will include Oscar Scott Woody and John Starr March who were postal workers aboard the ship. We will also discuss the inebriated Chief Baker Charles Joughin, the millionaire Ben Guggenheim, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, the Titanic Orchestra with its eight band members, and the 1,300 men who chose to go down with the ship in order to let their wives and children get on board the lifeboats first. Come with me as we discuss what these men and women did, how they felt and how their actions can help us today.
Learning Goals
We will learn about heroic deeds that members of the Titanic exemplified as the ship was sinking. These people will include: Oscar Scott Woody, John Starr March, Charles Joughin, Ben Guggenheim, Molly Brown, the Titanic Orchestra, and the 1,300 men who chose to go down with the ship in order to let their wives and children get on board the lifeboats first.

We will be discussing the heroics of the Titanic. The pictures that will be used are not graphic and will only feature portraits of several of the passengers mentioned above.
