This is a two week course , designed to follow my Introduction to Beginner Piano Class, in order to begin to add some more left hand parts to our songs , and to learn a few new songs.
Class experience
I welcome learners of all identities and backgrounds into my classes. This course is an extension to my Introduction to Beginner Course. We will learn some new songs, as well as adding more left hand chords to our previous songs. Now that the students are already familiar with the notes on the keyboard, and how to play some basic songs , we are going to continue forward with new songs and skills. Since the students have been playing songs in home position, we are now going to move on to...
Students will learn to keep a steady beat, while playing a melody. The students will be able to play in home position and additional positions on the piano. Students will get a feel for their own self expression and unique musical personality. Students will learn a bit about musical form and how songs are structured. The students will be able to play with musically and expression. Students will begin to get a feel for different musical styles and how to play them.
I have 20+ years experience, as a music teacher. I have taught piano, electric keyboard, guitar, and general music classes, in both the classroom and private settings. I was head of the music department at a private high school in Maryland. I taught private piano and guitar lessons at a guitar shop, for 5 years, in addition to my own private students in my studio.
