Class Experience

In this fun lesson about going to the zoo, students practice saying zoo animals and the noises that they make. We will use plastic animals and flash cards to learn the zoo animals and the sounds they make. We will play fun games and activities with zoo animal toys, sing a song, make things with play-doh, read a funny story and do a coloring worksheet that is provided for download and print before class.

This lesson helps to build up animal vocabulary (especially if done after the Farm Animals lesson) and introduces the phrase "Let's go to the Zoo."

This class is suitable for native English speakers and ESL/ELL learners.

My teaching style is child-centered, interactive, and engaging. If time allows, there will be show and tell with their favorite zoo animal. No prior skills are necessary.

This class last 30 - 35 minutes depending on class size and children's abilities.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Teacher Melody. I live in beautiful St Louis, Missouri. I graduated from Webster University with a Masters Degree in Human Resources, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Education from Southern Illinois University. I am a certified ESL teacher with a TESOL certificate. I have over 25 years experience working with children, and over 5 years experience teaching remote learning classes to children. Learning with me is fun and exciting! I teach English to native speaking children ages 3 - 18 years old, as well as English as a second language to children to improve their English speaking skills. In addition to academic lessons, I offer a variety of lesson topics; lessons about animals, traveling, music, creative writing, holidays, and more! In my classroom we learn while playing fun games and learning new songs together. My classroom is both fun and educational. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, by having new adventures and experiences together. I share my home with my four dogs and three cats. In my spare time I enjoy volunteering at local animal shelter in my community. I can't wait to meet your child in the classroom!
