What's included
1 live meeting
1 in-class hoursHomework
1 hour per week. Students will be given worksheets to print out after the class to reinforce their learning. Because this class meets once, this is optional and they have the choice to send their homework to me to look over.Assessment
I do not routinely give an assessment at the end of the class. However, if a student or parent would like an assessment, they may request one by emailing me.Class Experience
Did you know that Japanese has three writing systems? I know, hard to imagine right? Well, in this one time class you will learn to read, write and pronounce 15 of the 69 characters of Hiragana (one of the writing systems). But wait? Doesn’t Hiragana have only 46 characters? Well, I am including both the ten ten (not from Naruto) and maru characters as well. Don’t know what they are? Well, you will just have to take this course to find out. We will study: あ, い, う, え, お か, き, く, け, こ が, ぎ, ぐ, げ, ご This is the first in a five-part course that will be used to go over Hiragana (the first writing system). You will definitely enjoy this class. We will play games (fast moving hiragana game, kahoot and much more), video clips (for writing), powerpoint slides, and pictures to help you learn the sound and the letter. I want you to feel comfortable and engaged while learning. You will not need any experience, just an open mind and be ready to learn. Photo credit: "Learn Hiragana" by Danny Choo
